[30 Day Cosplay Challenge] Day 7: The character you have cosplayed that is most similar to you.
Most similar to me? That one’s easy - it’s Miss Martian, no competition!
Our personalities are nearly identical for the most part. We have that “girly but strong” attitude: yeah, we may like to wear skirts, but if you mess with us or our friends (especially if you mess with our friends), we’ll take you down. More than that, M’gann also has this fervent desire to fit in on Earth, enough that she frequently makes a lot of funny social mistakes. I can definitely relate to that (actually, I think most of Tumblr can, haha!). Despite that, she’s still friendly and caring, and she always puts others before herself - the latter of which I know isn’t always a good thing because it certainly wears me down sometimes, but I can’t imagine doing it any other way.
We both get flustered around our crush, we both like stereotypical “girly sports” (hers is cheerleading, mine is dancing), we both enjoy cooking and baking, and of course there’s a mutual love of sitcoms!
(Annnd we both have little speech quirks. M’gann’s is obviously her “Hello, Megan!” phrase. Mine is that I tend to end my sentences like, “Blahblahblahtalktalktalk, SO…..” and then just let it trail off awkwardly. I have no idea why I do that but now that my friends made me aware of it, I’m noticing that I do it ALL the time. And it’s kind of embarrassing, ffff.)
Overall, she’s one of my absolute favorite characters, and the fact that I really connect with her makes it that much more fun to cosplay her. I can’t wait ‘till we have our full Young Justice group later this year, it’s going to be so amazing!
