Hey followers! I need your help!
My women studies class has spent the past two months tackling the issue of Columbia College’s sexual assault policy.
- As it stands, a victim of sexual assault has to report the incident to untrained RAs or security officers who have no knowledge of how to handle a situation like this.
- There is no on-campus counseling service provided with counselors who have been trained to handle incidents of sexual assault.
- Furthermore, the process of seeking conviction for the perpetrator involves recounting the incident to board of college officials, and if they decide not to believe it, the victim will be expelled from the school.
Nothing about this is okay.
So please, help by signing and sharing this petition - you can do so even if you’re not a Columbia student!
Tim and Jason have distinctly different personalities. There shouldn’t be any confusion between them, and the fact that there is, even in one episode, means the writing isn’t conveying Tim correctly. If anything, the pilot episode should clearly establish his personality, and it didn’t. Trust me, I love Tim too, and as fans of both him and Jason, it upsets me that the writers are mixing their personalities together, even if only subtly in a way that most people won’t notice.
Again, yes, it’s only been one episode. But the way Dick treated this Robin was the way he would’ve treated Jason. Tim isn’t someone who would need to be told to “not take unnecessary risks” - Jason is, through and through. Jason is very much the one who will do whatever it takes to complete the mission, regardless of who his actions endanger; he’s the epitome of vengeance and anger and “the ends justify the means.”
Tim, on the other hand, would never need to be told that. He worships Dick Grayson; if Dick tells him to conduct the mission in a certain way, he’ll do it that way. Dick wouldn’t need to warn him not to risk or endanger the other team members, because it just isn’t something Tim would do.
But if you and other fans are diggin’ this interpretation of Tim, awesome. It just didn’t really do it for me. I’m hoping it gets better in later episodes, but I’m still going to be sad if Jason isn’t mentioned at all and they literally just cut him out of the Robin timeline entirely. I’ll be thrilled if he at least shows up as Red Hood, but if he’s just… not there at all? Now that will give me feels.
Aww thanks!! I’ve known Courtoon since we were in kindergarten, we were on the same soccer team when we were kids :D
Then we met Solo at Youmacon 2008 because we all cosplayed Kingdom Hearts stuff together!
I highly doubt it.
I’m guessing that the change in relationships occurred during the yet-to-be-released video game. And during that game we’ll probably find out what happened to Wally, Artemis, Aqualad, and Roy.
Our group has the theory that Wally died (considering he’s cut out of the DC reboot entirely), and his death made Artemis either become a villain or give up crime fighting.
Not sure about Roy and Aqualad. I’m thinking Roy is Captain Hook and Aqualad is just off running around in his Mass Effect armor.
Again, I’m waiting until I can properly express my thoughts before posting my review. Because I know that whatever I say is going to make people really angry.
But the other Top 3 things I hated (with SuperMartian being split up as one of them) was the fact that there was absolutely no mention or reference to Wally/Artemis/Aqualad whatsoever, not even in passing, and that they skipped Jason Todd… but then just gave Tim his personality and had the other characters treat him like Jason. He had Tim’s appearance and fighting style.. but the way Dick spoke to him was way more appropriate for Jason. And considering Jason is my favorite Robin, that was pretty frustrating.
I’ll expand on all of this later during my video review, but yeah. Those are the main things.
DON’T YOU TALK ABOUT MY WAIFU LIKE THAT, NO ONE IS AS GORGEOUS AND PERFECT AS SHE IS

^ Accurate GIF is accurate.
Being a die-hard SuperMartian shipper… not even gonna lie, that was one of the Top 3 things I hated most about the premiere of Invasion.

Clark’s making me cosplay her at Youmacon for our giant Korra group!
I’m just really nervous because she’s my new forever waifu and I literally have the biggest crush on her so I know that no matter what I do I won’t live up to my expectations of her. Because. She is so flawless and beautiful and lsfkgjhnnngh.
Seriously. I am so in lesbians with Asami I cannot even.
Honestly? Probably not. Because we have a lot of other costumes we want to do, and since the first episode of Invasion left us both raging and crying… I’m really not sure we want to spend the money on new costumes for a show that we’re not 100% thrilled with.
Again, I’ll be posting my episode review tomorrow or Wednesday once I can articulate my thoughts properly. Even though people on YouTube apparently hate when I have opinions. Oh welllll.

I still want to cosplay Tira. I’m just sayin’.
YESSSS do it do it do it do it do it
Seriously, as long as I have at least one person to take fighting pictures with, I’ll be happy. <3
I mostly post blurbs about life, con coverage when I’m at a convention, and also live-tweeting during TV shows. :D
I rather wear band shirts than dresses. I rather go to concerts than to partys. I rather listen to 30 Seconds To Mars than Hannah Montana. I rather watch music videos than reality-shows. I rather wear band bracelets than diamonds. I rather wear Converse than High Heels. I rather learn song lyrics than names of discos. I rather hang out on Twitter/Tumblr than Facebook. AND I DON’T GIVE A FUCK WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME
I’d rather wear dresses than band shirts because dresses make me feel pretty.
I’d rather go to parties than concerts because I hate deafeningly-loud music and crowds.
I’d rather listen to Hannah Montana than 30 Seconds to Mars because damn, her music can be pretty darn catchy and it makes me happy.
I’d rather watch reality shows than music videos because Toddlers & Tiaras is ridiculously addictive.
I’d rather wear diamonds than band bracelets because sparkly things are neat.
I’d rather wear high heels than Converse because I like having better support for my arches.
I’d rather learn the names of discos than song lyrics because you never know when you’ll have to give someone directions to the nearest disco, especially in today’s society!
I’d rather hang out on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook because I like to use a variety of social media for different purposes.
And I don’t use my preferences and interests to judge people who like other things, because el oh freakin’ el, we are all special snowflakes and the fact that I have all of Nicki Minaj’s raps memorized instead of knowing the lyrics to every Muse song doesn’t impact my worth as a human being one way or the other.

haha wow we should team up! The sewing part is my favorite and I get so frustrated with detail work because I am a perfectionist with costumes. Man, I wish I could love the detail work XD
I think what I love most about the detail work is that I get to be more creative with it and take artistic freedoms - not necessarily in the specific designs if I want to stay accurate, but at least in what materials I choose to interpret them with. That’s one of the coolest things about seeing other people who’ve done the same costume, because everyone tends to interpret the details in their own way!
For example, my friends Liz and Janet are both Kraehe cosplayers too (those links will take you to their costumes!). While we’ve done the same outfits, all of our costumes look totally different because we all chose different materials and different techniques, especially for the detail work! They’re all still accurate, but all of our individual craftsmanship personalities show in our work, and that, I think, is one of the most awesome aspects of cosplay. :D
Sorry for rambling! But yeah, I don’t feel as “free” when it comes to the basic garment construction because sewing is relatively technical, i.e. there’s only one way to do a French seam, there’s only one way to properly install zippers, etc. But having a solid knowledge of sewing is definitely vital when it comes to craftsmanship!
The actual sewing aspect can get really frustrating. Like I said, I’m much more into detail work than basic construction because it’s just more interesting to do.
